Projects for growing corn using water-saving technologies were presented in the Shieli district

During a working trip to the Shieli district, Akim of the region Murat Ergeshbayev visited the corn field of "Tan LTD" LLP in the Telikol rural district, where corn is grown using drip irrigation.
The head of the region familiarized himself with the innovative project aimed at growing corn on three thousand hectares and the condition of the thousand hectares sown this year. Here, with state support and investment funds, water-saving equipment and the necessary infrastructure for irrigation systems have also been installed.
In 2024, as a result of joint work with representatives of the Chinese company "Bayan Country Jiarun Agricultural Development CO," 700 hectares of corn were sown using the drip irrigation method last year, yielding over 4.5 thousand tons of produce. Thus, this project demonstrates efficiency, and the volume of production is growing year by year.
Fifty people work in the field, and the project will be launched at full capacity by 2027.
And "Seed Center" LLP grows corn using drip irrigation in the Talaptan rural district.
Overall, within the framework of the project worth 10 billion tenge, grain corn will be grown on 10 thousand hectares using sprinkler irrigation technology. This year, the farm has sown one thousand hectares with this crop. State support measures have been provided, and equipment for irrigation systems has been supplied. In addition, the necessary means for water-saving technologies have been acquired through attracted investments.
Currently, 50 people are permanently working on the sown area. The project is planned to be fully launched in stages in 2026-2028.
It should be noted that this year in the Shieli district, agricultural crops were sown on 32,499 hectares. The harvesting campaign is currently actively underway, with 1,661 tons of wheat and 15 hectares of barley fully harvested. The harvesting campaign continues.
In the region, the pace of implementing water-saving technologies is increasing every year. If last year such technologies were applied on 8,100 hectares, this year their volume has increased to 14,200 hectares.
