An audit conducted by the prosecutor's office of the Altai region on the legality and effectiveness of budget spending revealed the fact of embezzlement in the State Institution "Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction of the Altai region".
It was established that during the year, the accountant illegally transferred funds in the amount of 10 million tenge to her bank account simultaneously according to two budget specifications.
On this fact, the district prosecutor's office launched a pre-trial investigation under paragraphs 1, 2, part 3, art.189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By the verdict of the Altai district court, the guilty person was sentenced to 2 years in prison with life imprisonment for the right to hold positions in local government bodies and quasi-public sector entities.
On the basis of Part 1 of Article 74 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the execution of the imposed punishment was postponed due to the presence of a minor child.
The stolen budget funds were returned to the state revenue.
